Easter forgiveness
As I awoke on this Saturday morning to began my weekend of celebration of my 13th wedding anniversary tomorrow on April 16th Easter Sunday; I saw a story that had me teary eyed. A little girl name, Kai Leigh Harriott was on the CBS news with her mother talking about forgiveness. Her forgiveness impacted her three years ago on July 1st. A bullet meant for someone else found its way into the body of a little girl enjoying her life. The bullet entered her shoulder from the back and left the young girl paralyze from the chest down. As the sentence for Anthony Warren who fired three shot into the house one bullet strayed and found Kai Leigh that would forever change her life. Kai Leigh who is about to turn six on May 5th forgave the man who changed her life. On this Easter 2006 God is still working miracles and I witness one on television today. The mother of Kai Leigh reached out to shake the man’s hand that pleaded guilty to the crime got a surprise when he reached to shake her hand. Anthony Warren pulled her close and embraced her. The guard and several people that were in the camera’s view started to get teary eyed, including me. That’s what Jesus was all about. Forgiveness. We all need to forgive at someone point and move on. Kai Leigh mother whispered in his ear to, “do the right thing.” The bullet was not meant for her as he and two other argued with some other folks in a disagreement. Take time to forgive someone and get right with God.
