KOBE BRYANT: 81 Points!

81 Points

He did it, yes he did. Did you see it? Were you a witness to the fact that history was being made on a Sunday night in downtown Los Angeles at the Staple Center? On my previous blog I warned you that a certain player was now my favorite. Of Course LeBron James gets the light and this player only shines a little, now that the Colorado incident is over. To me he is the best now and working towards to take the crown from the king himself, Michael Air Jordan. That's ok because I knew it was going to happen. The comparisons to Mike, the walk the wrist and leg bands and the demeanor he conducted himself during interviews. Forget about all that, what really impress me about this 27 year Killa is his will to win. Now the nay Sayers and haters may say he should have passed the damn ball. That may be true and those who didn't see the game don't really know if he did because the highlight reels only shows him scoring. Lets face it his team is a scrub! He is the only one who earns his money on this team. Period! Kobe Bryant is the best now and on his way from snatching that title. I understand that and I welcome the work ethic that he brings. The league is so watered down and everybody wants to be a star but few put in the effort. I thought about how monumental how big this was. Wilt Chamberlain was seven foot one inches tall and scored 100 points back in the sixties when there was no ESPN or cable outlet. Kobe stands six foot six playing in a time when the players are faster and stronger and he is much shorter than Wilt. Kobe is unstoppable and that 81 points maybe the greatest feat ever. Sure a hundred points is more but look how he did it. He scored from all over the court and beat a whole damn team by himself. The Lakers were losing to the Toronto Raptors and he came in and took over. He did what any competitor would have done. He simply did not want to lose. There is nothing wrong with that and basketball enthusiast who doesn’t like Kobe should at least respect the man. It took Wilt 67 shots to score a hundred. It only took Kobe 45 shots and shooting 61 percent from the floor to do it. He was in what Michael Jordan would call the ZONE. I watched the highlights and herd Scottie Pippen take on it. Scottie as you know played with the greatest ever and he shook his head. That was amazing and now he has four days to rest. I liked this young man since he was in high school in Philly. I saw that quality just like I saw it in Dr.J. when I was a young kid and Michael growing up as a teen into my adult hood. I am now 35 and a basketball junkie. I don’t like teams I like players and Kobe will forever sit on the top of my list with the other two players I respect and enjoyed. Julius Erving and Michael Jordan. People want to give Lebron the king title but even he said he doesn't have the killer instinct like Kobe. I believe he called him an "assassin." Whoa those are heavy words from a competitor. That’s respect. My best friend who I called at told him of this feat. He still has no respect for this individuals play. But he loves the Knicks who sits at the bottom of the standings in the NBA and is still bitter about number 23 giving his Knicks heartache year after year. He doesn’t really recognize game, because the only argument he has is he don’t like him because he guns the ball. Well my friend, if no one on the team is going to make the shot what is the best player on the team supposed to do? The next highest player on that team was Smuch Parker and he had fourteen points. So what does that tell you? Oh let me add this. Bill Walton who over analyzes every damn thing made a comment about another one of my favorites, Allen Iverson and his Sixers. He said, "wake up it's 12:00 its games time." Well Bill if you read this answer this question. You son Luke who plays with Kobe, how come he hasn't woke up since he entered the NBA? Analyze that! Kobe, keep doing what you doing. I’m your fan for life! If anybody knows how to get in touch with Steven A. Smith of Espn and The Philadelphia Inquire tell him to read this commentary and invite me on the show. I know he has to agree with this.

This just in: Philadelphia basketball legend Sonny Hill stated on the Steven A Smith show that Kobe is chasing greatness. We forget this man has three titles. He doesn’t have to win anymore. Sonny also stated that most teams in the NBA don’t put up 81 points on the board. The average now is 92 points. Sonny also said you couldn't give the ball to anyone and tell him or her to score 81 points because it’s not in them to do that. This an inner drive of a man driven' to greatness. Dr. Cornell West spoke on a panel and he stated that we should not want to be successful. We should want to be great. Mr. West went on to say that a thief is successful at stealing or a drug dealer is successful at selling drugs but none are great. That’s the aim this man is trying to reach. Steven A. Smith said we could no longer questioned his greatness, he sealed it last night. Now this is a man who only as a low key Nike deal after having a shoe deal with ADIDAS. LeBron has a signature shoe, so does Allen Iverson, Kevin Garnett Ect. But Kobe doesn’t have a signature shoe. Phil Knight please give this man a signature shoe!
