Do Not Leave Out That Six Letter Word

Do Not Leave Out That Six-Letter Word: R-E-P-E-N-T
Today’s Scripture Reading: Acts 3:12–20; Galatians 1:6–12 Key Verse: Acts 3:19
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.
What is our gospel? Peter said it all when he declared under the anointing of the Holy Ghost: “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” That is the gospel of the kingdom compressed into one sentence. The problem with the body of Christ is that we preach another gospel. We are preaching something other than kingdom. We like to accidentally omit that difficult word repent. We imply that anybody can just “join up” in God’s country club. Our appeals to the lost resemble a low-dollar, used-car dealer’s offer more than a biblical call to God: “No money down. It does not matter whether you keep your word or not. Just sign the dotted line—we will get you credit and hand you the keys. We turn no one away for any reason.”Repentance has never been a popular message with people. Repentance does not tickle people’s ears. In fact, repentance may be the most unpopular message in the history of mankind. Still, any so-called preacher who does not preach repentance as part of the genuine gospel of the kingdom is accursed, according to the apostle Paul (see Gal. 1:8–9).As a member of God’s kingdom, you are officially called and anointed to share the gospel of the kingdom with other people. God does not require you to go to Bible college or seminary first. He does, however, demand that you tell people the truth. Share the pure and authentic gospel of the kingdom. Tell people that the only way into the kingdom is to repent and be converted in Jesus’ name. If you do that, you are blessed. If you share another gospel . . . Pray this prayer with me
Today's Prayer:
Heavenly Father, the gospel of Your kingdom is simple and straightforward. Help me to be the same way when I share Your gospel with those I meet today. Give me Holy Ghost boldness to tell the truth, no matter how afraid or intimidated I may feel. Once I obey and speak the truth in love, I know You will confirm the truth by Your Spirit. Thank You for hearing me and for answering my request in Jesus’ name, amen.
