A superhero was adopted

I was never adopted, I always had a since that I belong to my parents. I was often told that I either looked like my mother and father. The DNA I was fortunate to have to exist in this world was the perfect blend to make this little boy. I was watching one of my teenage hero’s on VH1 on Saturday and it profiled one half of the rap duo Run D.M.C.
When I was watching this man who I have seen in concert so many times screaming the lyrics that I still know by heart till this day, search for his real parents, it showed me a lot about the human spirit. This man has fame and fortune and all of his life he thought the parents that raised him was his parents until he turned thirty-five and found out it wasn’t true. I was really feeling this story for a man who gave me so much in terms of entertainment when I was younger. He boasted that he was D.M.C., the all time great or D.M.C. the King. But on this day he was an average man that wanted to know something so simple and that was to find his real mother. The thing that bothered me was his family that raised him was not that supportive via telephone calls that he made to them. Darryl McDaniels was a man on a mission to find what was his birthright. He needed to know who he truly was and I say God bless him for making this a five year journey. This man traveled the world, rocked crowds and broke records with his crew. I was so happy for him and his triumph of meeting his birth mother for the first time. I was teary eyed for my rap super hero. His mother embraced him with open arms of love. I am sure she had her reasons for giving him up. Think about this, if he never was adopted by Byford and Bannah Mc Daniels, he wouldn’t have been D.M.C. to us. I hope his adopted mother can get over the anger she feels for him wanting to search for his real mother.
D.M.C. gave the world himself and his parents a life that they wouldn’t have had if he didn’t rock the mic. I am sure he still feels like he is, “son of Byford brother of Al. Its McDaniels not Mc Donald’s the rhymes are Darryl’s and the burgers are Ronald’s. He went down his family tree, his mother, brother and father now “D.” He paid respect to his parents on the track Son of Byford from the Raising Hell LP or CD.
