T. O.
The T.O. Situation. What I think!
I am a man born and raised in the city of brotherly love, sisterly affection; better known as Illadelph, Philly or Philadelphia. This is the town of the Philadelphia Eagles. My favorite town has been on the news these last couple of weeks getting national attention for the Terrell Owens saga. Now here is my take on the situation. Owens should have been confronted back when he picked up Drew Rosenhaus as an agent. Drew’s aggressive tactics has backfired on him and the all pro wide receiver. At first I was supporting the team but as I continue to hear story after story, I began to develop a new twist of my own. I will compare this drama to modern day slavery. When you think about it, I am not that far off base. Check this out.
He’s a black man who plays for a Profession sports team owned by a white man.
There is a constant utter if the Eagles owning him. (No one owns anybody.) The team pays him a salary and he provides a service of playing football games.
Now the team wants to hold on to him, suspend him and pay him for the remainder of the season, pending a release of his service.
I understand that they have given this man chance after chance but where is the forgiveness in this. Sure he didn’t apologize like he was suppose to. Its like the master saying you better say this or else…Well or else has happen and they do not want him to play for the team anymore, citing detrimental to the team. This man has gave his heart and soul for this franchise and because of what happen on the off field the penalty is: I will display you for all to see your faults and no one will want you regardless of your skill. This man played in the Super bowl last year on a leg that wasn’t completely healed. T.O. can’t get any credit for that? I guess not, because they gave up his locker and no longer want him. I truly believe in the long run that the Eagles will pay for releasing this man. There is a team that is a wide receiver away from the Super Bowl and no matter what you think of his arrogance he still can play football. On the field was never the question it was off the field. What happen to freedom of speech? He should be able to say what he wants and not be penalize for it. To me I think the franchise is saying under their breaths, "stay in your place nigga. You know we run this and own your black ass. I now wish T.O. luck and I will still root for him. He’s a black man and I will now side with him. However, I think someone in his family should have checked him on a few things. But life is a learning process and that’s the way the ball rolls sometime. He originally wanted more money. He wanted to be paid like a top receiver should, well he’s going to lose some of that money he’s already in contract to make. But hey, you can’t take it with you and this is the price of being arrogant. Now T.O. must humble himself and retool his tactics and prepare himself for another team, because the city of brotherly love doesn’t want him back. Period.
